I chose to break the gun up in several parts in order to make it much easier to start and break the tasks needed down into more manageable chunks. I began to plan out how I would do this, I decided that modelling the whole gun in 1 object would be tedious and would limit me when it came to animating. Next came the most difficult part, starting. These were the 2 reference images I decided to use. The first task was finding appropriate reference material and after scouring the internet for a front and side view of the gun I then had to set this up in 3DS Max in order to be the starting point of my model. In the end I ended up choosing something I thought would come in handy for a potential future game of mine, a desert eagle. This in itself proved a challenge as we had to scope our assett based of our limited experience and time frame for this assignment. For this project we would have to create a hard surface assett from scratch, this meant we had to decide on what kind of model we would make.
